John W. Davis ran for Congress in West Virginia in 1910 and it was a near thing. Davis won the election by garnering 45% of the vote while his opponent G.G. Laughlin pulled in 44.7%. A Socialist candidate received the remaining votes. Davis left Congress to become U.S. solicitor general and ran for president in 1924. This scarce 1 inch celluloid is from that 1910 campaign. Few very faint marks at edge, as good as we’ve seen.
